Legal Notice

Nature of the measurements

The measurements shown on this map are self-reported by citizens, anonymously. They are neither verified nor certified by any professional third party. No individual measurement shown on this site constitutes a professional radon assessment of any specific property, and none should be interpreted as such.

Absence of data

The absence of a measurement in an area does not mean the absence of radon risk in that area. It only means that no one has submitted a measurement there yet. An empty area on the map should never be interpreted as a low-risk area.

Reliability and test duration

Radon concentration in a building varies significantly by season, weather, and ventilation. Health Canada recommends a test of at least 91 days to obtain a reliable result. Tests shorter than 91 days are labeled “indicative” on the map: they provide useful information, but are less reliable than a long-term test and are excluded from area-level averages.

No warranty

The operator of this site does not warrant the accuracy of any individual measurement submitted by a contributor. This map, or any page of this site, should never be the sole basis for a property transaction decision. A professional test performed by a certified radon measurement specialist remains the only way to obtain a reliable assessment of radon in a specific building.

Affiliate links

Some pages on this site, notably the detector recommendations, contain affiliate links to Amazon. If you buy through these links, the operator of this site earns a commission at no extra cost to you. These commissions go solely to keeping this site running: they cover the site’s hosting and operating costs, which are real. The recommendations remain editorial and follow Health Canada’s measurement protocol (91 days or more) and C-NRPP-listed devices — they are not paid placements. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
